Clean Virginia Waterways (CVW)
This statewide nonprofit organization is located on
the Longwood University campus, and has many volunteer opportunities for students,
faculty and staff. Every fall, CVW organizes river cleanups throughout Virginia, and
collects acorns for future planting next to Virginia's rivers. Every spring, CVW needs
volunteers for the annual Electronic Recycling event. Other year-round volunteer
opportunities exist. For more information, see the
CVW website: http://www.longwood.edu/cleanva/
or send an email to: cleanva@longwood.edu

Middle James River Watershed Roundtable
This region group is a collaborative effort to improve
water quality through local and regional community-based watershed projects. Volunteers can
help distribute educational coasters to restaurants, or mark storm drains to remind people that
waste should not be emptied into storm drains since they drain into our rivers.
