International Students: Visit the Longwood University Office of International Affairs for information on required health insurance. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Traveler's Health information.
Medical services in the U.S. are not nationalized. Costs for doctors' services and hospitals may be more expensive than in other countries. Longwood University requires that international students subscribe to a health insurance plan before arriving.
The policy must provide coverage for hospitalization expenses, medical evacuation, and repatriation expenses.
