From your desktop, RIGHT click on either "My Computer" or "My Network Places". 

From that menu, choose "Map Network Drive".

In the "Map Network Drive" window, left click on the option "Create a shortcut to a Web folder or FTP site" Left click on the option "Create a shortcut to a Web folder or FTP site
You will be taken to another "Add Network Place Wizard" window.  In the "Type the location of the Network Place:" line, add the following, being sure to add the "s" to "https://" which makes the connection secure.  You won't be able to connect without it.

When ready, choose "Next".

Enter https://webdav.longwood.edu/youremailid
When prompted for your credentials, enter your lancernetid@longwood.edu and your current LancerNet password.

It is best not to choose to "Save this password in your password list", particularly if you are not on your own computer. 

 

When prompted for your credentials, enter your FULL Longwood e-mail address and the current password for network/e-mail access.
You will be taken to another "Add Network Place Wizard" window which will confirm the name of the network connection.  This won't need changing, it is basically an alternative name you can assign for when you come to open it later. 

Choose the "Finish" button.

The connection will open in a new window.  You will be able to copy and paste files into this window like you would a folder on your computer. 

Using the "drag and drop" method with your files will create a copy action instead of a "move" action, so it should be safe to do.

Be aware that as this is a internet connection, the speed of the file transfer will depend on your connection speed.

If this is your computer and not one in the labs, you should be able to access this connection in the future by opening up "My Network Places" from the icon on your desktop and it should be listed there.

Double left click on it to open it.

To remove the connection from a computer, go into "My Network Places" from the icon on your desktop.  Right click on the icon for your WebDav connection and choose "Delete". 

This severs the connection and will not harm the data on your computer or the server.
