is required to have a laptop? All entering Longwood University Freshman and transfer students are required to purchase a laptop. Because of volume discounts, strong support on campus, and the four-year-on-site warranty it is highly recommended that Longwood students purchase a laptop through the Longwood/Dell Laptop Program. Does anything come on the hard drive of my laptop? Longwood University has worked closely with Dell Computer to make sure that all of the software that you will need are on the computer’s hard drive when it arrives at your door. This is a process that allows you to easily connect to the school’s network and it reduces the time it will take to get started using you computer. In addition, your laptop will come with all of the software provided under the University’s Microsoft Campus Agreement. You don’t NEED additional options, but we strongly
recommend a spare battery and a printer. You may also want
to consider an external mouse. What kind of support of my Longwood/Dell laptop do I
have on campus? Longwood has a Dell certified technician on site at our Computer Repair Center. In addition, User Support Services is available for student support Mon-Fri. warranty, such as a cracked or broken screen and spilling liquids on the
keyboard. This is a great warranty
that makes the Longwood/Dell laptop an even better value! How long is the battery that ships with my Dell laptop warranted for? The battery is a consumable product is warranted for (1) year. Is financing available? Yes, finance plans are available through Dell.
