Dell
Each Longwood/Dell laptop comes with a four year next day
warranty. You are covered by this
warranty at home or while on campus. You
always have the option to use Dell’s direct support.
User Support Services
Longwood’s User Support Services is available for student
computing issues Monday – Friday from 8am until 5pm. Technicians are available to receive requests for support by
telephone at 395-HELP (4357), via email at helpdesk@longwood.edu,
or you may visit the office located in the basement of the Coyner building.
The Computer Repair Center
Longwood has a computer repair center located on campus
where a Dell certified technician is available Monday through Friday.
Prior to visiting the Computer Repair Center, you must have a work order
placed through a Resident Technology Associate.
Resident Technology Associates
The first point of contact the best resource
for students in support of their Longwood/Dell laptops are the Resident
Technology Associates. These
RTAs are students who are trained
specifically on the Dell Latitudes that are available through the Longwood/Dell
contract. These students are among
the most skilled in technology on campus and are usually Computer Science or Computer
Information Management Systems majors. Each
residence hall on campus has at least one and most often several RTAs assigned
for support. RTAs are available for
support at nights and on weekends.
