POLITICAL SCIENCE CLUB
General
The Political Science Club strives to engage the Longwood Community in the current political issues and questions. The Club meets weekly to organize its events. Approximately two dozen students, from various disciplines, are active members of the organization.
Activities
During Fall Semester 1996, the Club attended the Old Dominion University Model United Nations; four members received outstanding achievement awards for their participation in the three-day conference. Club members also attended the Hampden-Sydney College Student State Leader Debate. At Longwood University, the Club organized a campus-wide mock presidential election and chaired the Election Night Blowout. Activities during Spring Semester 1997 included a Political Science Conference in Savannah, Georgia, Model Senate in Florida. The Club also participates in a number of local activities.
When, Where, and How do I Join?
Meetings are held every Tuesday at 1:15 in West Ruffner 323. Anyone interested in getting involved or wanting their voice heard is more than welcome to stop by or to contact Ryan Hoppin, President.
