Study Abroad

Why Study Abroad?

Studying abroad is an experience of a lifetime and one that you surely will not forget.  This exciting opportunity will change not only the way that you see the world around you, but also the way you see yourself as a citizen scholar. Besides the opportunity to travel, here are some other great reasons why studying abroad is a wonderful idea for everyone:

  • You will gain academic credit.
  • You will be exempt from the General Education Goal 9 (Diversity).
  • You will immerse yourself in a culture that is different from your own in regards to language, food, customs, and dress in addition to gaining an understanding of the values that influence the people in these countries.
  • You will experience personal growth, develop skills, and gain experiences that a classroom can never provide. It's a great opportunity to find new personal strengths and abilities. You will learn more about yourself by encountering situations that may otherwise be unfamiliar to you.
  • You will enhance your résumé to employers and graduate schools.
  • You will meet people from various cultures and backgrounds and develop lasting relationships.
  • As Cormier Honors scholars, we aspire to change the world. In order to change the world, we should first see it!
