Honors Conference Calls for Proposals
We have received calls for proposals for two upcoming honors conferences. If you have a project, or will have developed one in the near future, please come by the Honors office in East Ruffner and see Dr. Fink or Dr. Orth so that we can start work on the proposal. Here are some details to mark down:
The Virginias Collegiate Honors Council Annual Conference Hampton Univesity, Hampton, Virginia April 10th and 11th, (Friday-Saturday), 2008 Students from some two dozen public and private colleges in Virginia and West Virginia gather to present their honors work in a friendly and collegial atmosphere. Proposals may be in the form of a paper (limited to fifteen to twenty minutes); a poster session presentation; or a panel discussion. Abstracts limited to fifty words in length are due by March 14th.
The National Collegiate Honors Council Conference San Antonio, Texas October 23-26, 2008 Students from hundreds of colleges and universities will gather near the Alamo to present their honors work. Presentations are limited to poster sessions. Submissions of abstracts are made online.
The Honors Program expects to be able to fund travel, meals and lodging for students whose work is accepted. Don’t delay—those the abstracts are relatively short, they can’t be put together, reviewed, and submitted at the last minute.
