The CHC partners with the Honors Student Association to execute biannual service retreats at Hull Springs Farm. These retreats involve service projects and fellowship opportunities each semester for Honors students. As one student explains,
"the Service Retreat is so much more than doing some manual labor to fulfill an obligation to some club or organization...[it] provide[s] the perfect opportunity for a group of dedicated students to become better friends while helping out with community tasks, truly becoming citizen leaders."
CHC students maintain a garden near Wheeler Residence Hall. The products of the garden are donated to the Farmville Area Community Emergency Services (FACES) Food Pantry. This provides an excellent service learning opportunity for Honors students.
Throughout the year, Honors students volunteer with organizations in the Farmville community. Some of these organizations include the FACES Food Pantry, Zephyr Stables Riding and Rescue, the Southside SPCA, and the Woodland Retirement Community.
