Policy 5209

CREATION OF NEW POSITIONS 


I.    PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to establish operational authority for the President to hire and set salaries for certain positions below the level of vice president organizationally.

II.    POLICY

A. Hiring Authority: The Board grants authority for the President to create new positions below the level of vice president including faculty, administrative officers, and classified employees as may be authorized by law.  

B.  Salaries: The President shall have the authority to set salaries for such new positions within Commonwealth of Virginia and institutional guidelines.
