Student IDs
- Magnetic Stripe: The Mag stripe on your ID card is used in the Library, Dining Hall, Touchnet and for printing in the computer labs. In the event your magnetic stripe is damaged, you will need to replace your ID card. It contains information that identifies you as a current Longwood student.
- Replacement: Your initial ID card is printed free of charge. Cards that are lost, stolen, cracked, stop working, or damaged in any way can be replaced at a cost of $15.00 in the University ID Center located in Lancaster G22A. The hours of operation are Monday thru Friday, 8:15 -5:00. Other office hours may be scheduled as needed to accommodate requests.
- Caring For Your Card: DO NOT punch a hole in your ID card. You may have to replace it at a cost of $15.00. The card center manager will punch the appropriate hole if you need one. A hard plastic card holder is available at the ID Center for $2.00 and it will protect your card from damage. Lanyards are also available for $2.00 each.
IMPORTANT: ID Cards and Photos are the property of Longwood University and may be shared within the University for administrative purposes.
Loaner Cards
Loaner Cards are available at the Campus Police Dispatch office or the ID Center. Loaner cards are issued for 72 hours at the discretion of the Department of Public Safety. Loaner cards MUST be returned in a timely fashion. In the event that a loaner card is lost or not returned, you will incur a $20 lost card fee and your student account will be flagged until it is returned or paid. Loaner cards may be used to access the Dining Hall as long as another form of picture ID is shown for verification.
Problems With Your Card?
Lost or stolen ID cards should be reported immediately to the ID Center or the Public Safety Dispatch office at 434-395-2091 so that your card can be deactivated for access.
