MOAT Login Information
Welcome to MOAT!
The login for the site is accessible at: https://sat.vita.virginia.gov/. Your login and additional information will be sent via e-mail. Your default password will be sent in a separate e-mail. If you forget your password, you can use the "Request a new password" link on the MOAT login page. If you have been locked out due to password violations you should contact User Support at 434-395-4357.

After logging in and accepting the MOAT agreement, you will see a window similar to the one below on the left. The instructions in the center portion direct you to the menu items on the left hand side. Clicking on the items on the left side will expand and show sub options. Finishing each area will change the symbol on the left side of the topic from a empty circle before beginning to a partial circle while in progress. This is seen in the sample below on the right. Completed areas will feature a check mark to the left side. Reading the content matter and answering the questions will allow you to progress through the areas. You can answer the questions as many times as you would like to gain compliance. Finally at the bottom, you will find the Longwood University Vault which contains additional information such as Longwood University Policies that you must confirm your acceptance to. Time required to complete MOAT is approximately 1-2 hours, though many users finish in less time and it does not need to be completed in one sitting.
Compliance is determined through administrative reporting tools, though you may print a certificate upon completion for your records. Please be aware that your certificate will not print in the horizontal "landscape" mode by default, so you will need to adjust your print settings for the certificate to print correctly.
