Since summer '06, we have created areas for
all courses on Blackboard automatically. Currently, all courses should
be created with students enrolled.
Please check
Blackboard first if you are creating a new course from scratch
as it may already be created. Also, nearly
all instructors are enrolled into these
courses as their instructor role. There are some gaps in
this as new courses are added and as the final courses are
assigned their instructors. If this applies to you, please
use this form. If you are not showing your courses
in Banner,
please contact your chair so that you can be properly assigned.
Please continue to use this form to lump students from many sections into a single course.
(NOTE for Merged Courses): We are
trying to automate the enrollments to hourly or multiple times
per day. To do that, each course and student has to have a
unique identifier that is created by Banner. That identifier is
given by the system and then pulls the rolls from Banner. If
merged courses are set up as they have in the past by
hand, there will not be a unique identifier that the Banner
system knows about, thus we can't populate the courses. It is
something we are working on to try to complete as soon as
possible. Thanks for your understanding.)
All new courses are created in the "Unavailable" state which
means the students can't get to them.
To make the course available, follow these instructions.
If you are a new instructor planning on using Blackboard, please
make sure that your department has filled out the new employee
form for you. This gets you access to Blackboard, email,
and other systems.
Please use this form
to have your courses configured for this semester and future
semesters on
Blackboard. This form is set up to accept one course request at a
time. You will be provided with a link back to this page after you
submit each request. This is a form for
faculty/staff to request Blackboard enabled courses and not for
students to request to be added to a course. If you are a
student needing to be added, please
fill out
this form.
