Marking the halfway point of the fall semester, Oktoberfest is a weekend of fun, relaxation and spirit that acts as a refresher for students. Many distinctive events make up a few days of dancing, stories and—perhaps most importantly—paint.
Oktoberfest is organized by Longwood Geist Chapter of Mortar Board
History runs deep at Longwood, and every year it gets told at Dr. Jim Jordan’s bonfire.
Perhaps the most beloved professor in Longwood history, Jordan recounts the long history of Oktoberfest on campus around a huge bonfire.
Step 1: Line up with your class.
Step 2: Fill a solo cup with paint.
Step 3: Fling paint on fellow students.
Sound fun? It is. Odd years are green, even years are red, and it really doesn’t matter who gets the most paint on the other classes—red+green=blue.
A fun weekend on campus wouldn’t be the same without live music.
A day full of tunes—from country to pop to rock—is capped with a top performer who closes the weekend in style!
