Children's literature books were
used to give campers a picture
of life in other countries. The popular children's book "Beatrice's
Goat" tells the tale of a girl in Africa who must sell goat's milk
to earn money to go to school. |

A professional Slovakian Folk
dancer taught us a few new moves. Pictured here are campers
practicing their dance. |

Campers learn economic
concepts such as production,
consumption, scarcity, specialization,
wants vs. needs, and more. Pictured here are campers
are playing a matching game where they must decide if resources are
scarce. |

Campers learned about water
resources on Earth and
learned that for many, clean
drinking water was scarce. Pictured here is a camper participating
in a water relay. Campers experienced the labor of taking 340 steps
to transport water. In Uganda, the average person must take 7,000
steps! |
|

Campers are engaged in
hands-on activities to
enhance the learning
environment and to make
learning fun! Here students are learning about resources and
production by making assembly line S'mores. |

Limbo time! Campers learn about different cultures and their
traditions. |

Campers learned how to eat with chopsticks. All week, campers
sample foods from around the world. |

Sometimes we act silly! This camper is
stretching out pizza dough! How far can it go? Campers learn about
being an entrepreneur and owning a pizza shop. Thanks to Bob Burke
from Domino's Pizza for coming! |

Many guest speakers
who have lived abroad
come and share with
campers about daily
living around the world. The campers always have lots
of questions. |

Each day campers
participated in an art
project associated
with a particular
part of the world. |

Campers save their
hard earned classroom
money to buy things in
the global village market |

This camp was so much fun!
