Some Useful Worksheets and Lists for Liberal Studies Majors

 

1.  Major GPA Calculation (pdf files):   Elementary          Middle          Both
     This chart provides a clear look at the courses that are considered the Liberas Studies "major" classes. Students can use this as an easy way to separate the "major" GPA from the overall GPA.

2.  4-Year Planning Document (pdf file) For students who like to look ahead and plan the whole course of study this will be a very useful tool. When used together with the course checksheet early in the course of study, this will provide a clear picture of a student's undergraduate career.

3. Prerequisites (list) - Some courses in the Liberal Studies major have prerequisites or co requisites. This link provides a handy reference list of those.

4. Speaking and Writing Intensive Courses (list) - Longwood requires each student to take at least two speaking-intensive courses beyond Goals 1 through 11 and 14 and to earn a grade of C- or better in at least two writing-intensive courses beyond courses req uired for General Education. This link provides a list of Liberal Studies and Professional Education courses that have been designated as speaking intensive or writing intensive.

5. Practicum in Spain. Students may elect to do the Practicum EDUC370 as an international experience.
