Accessing SciFinder Scholar

As of January 2009, you must register before you access SciFinder Scholar.

1. Click here to create your SciFinder Scholar account.
   • You must use an official Longwood email address (faculty, staff or student).
   • Your username must be 5-15 characters.
   • Your password must be 7-15 characters with at least one number and one uppercase letter.
   • You will choose a security question for use if you forget your password.
2. Check your email and click the required link to complete the registration process.

Each time you access SciFinder Scholar,

• Always use a SciFinder link on the library website whether you are on-campus or off-campus.
• A broadband internet connection is highly recommended for off-campus access.
• You will have to sign in with the username and password you created and accept the license terms.
• Please be sure to sign out from SciFinder when you are finished.

Terms of Use

SciFinder Scholar is for use by Longwood University students, faculty, and staff only according to the following criteria:

"Educational research done in the usual course in the pursuit of a degree, instructional use in a classroom setting, or research by faculty and students which is funded by the government or non-profit research foundations and intended for publication in the publicly available literature... Not for commercial research"
