Services

The Greenwood Library Reference Department exists to serve its users, particularly the students, faculty, and staff of Longwood University. The Reference Department works to fulfill the dual responsibilities recognized in the Library's Mission/Purpose Statement by (1) providing timely access to information that enhances the quality of teaching and learning and (2) assisting each user in developing the information literacy skills essential for effective citizen leadership.

Reference services are available in-person or through a variety of mediums, which can be found on the Ask a Librarian page.

The Reference Department can help users:

• find answers to questions and locate information;
• learn how to utilize the resources of the Library;
• search the Library's 150+ databases via our web pages;
• find resources on the web;
• develop a research strategy;
• identify and acquire appropriate resources beyond the Library.

Learning Commons

The Library's Learning Commons has more than 60 PCs and Macs with Internet access and desktop productivity software (see Computing Services for complete list). Librarians and student consultants are available to assist you during the following regular Learning Commons hours (excluding holidays, breaks and summer hours):
