find correct copy in OCLC
transfer the order record to the new bib record, and delete the incorrect bib record
edit correct record beginning with #3 below
3. If the item and bib record match:
assign call number (even if there is a suggested call number, verify that number against the catalog and/or LC schedule)
check authorities if they have not been verified
complete 300 field
check series titles
check notes (500) fields
check for older editions (student assistant can pull those from shelves and these are then given to the subject librarian for evaluation)
write call number on verso of the title page (top center).
5. If using Connexion, follow procedures for Connexion.
6. Send the book to physical processing.
Check bibliographic record in Millennium to book to make sure that it matches. If record doesn't match, search OCLC for a better one. If a better one is retrieved, download it. If no matching record is found in OCLC, a new record will have to be created
Edit the bib record and item screen as usual. Transfer the order record to the new record in ReadPAC and delete the unused source record. Be sure that the book has a slip in it indicating the requester's name for whom the book is to be held. Send to labeling without "in process" status.
After labeling is complete, give the book to circulation department to notify the requester that the book is available.
