Sandra Johns Lundberg
'60, was
the winner of
two National Challenge Class Awards at the American Rose Society
National Shows in Houston and Atlanta.
In 2000,
Carolyn
Cole Elliott '66,
received the Radio Shack National Teacher Award for teaching excellence
in mathematics, science, and technology. Only 100
teachers in the nation received this award, which included a $3,000
cash prize, a new computer, and free internet access for a year.
Elliott teaches at South Iredell High School in
North Carolina.
Betsy Manson
'68, a reading
specialist at Bon Air Elementary School in Chesterfield, was named
Reading Teacher of the Year by the Richmond Area Reading Council.
Betsy helped to establish a Publishing Center, which encourages
parents and students to create their own books. She also developed
Grand Friends, a tutorial program with senior citizens from the
Summer Hill Retirement Center.
Linda Long Radosevich
'69 and
Debi McQueeney
Flynn '77,
teach at St.
Mary's High School in Annapolis, Maryland. In 2000,
Linda received the school's Excellence in Education Award and
Debi received the award in 2001.
Jeanie Collin
Keys '73,
is an award-winning artist whose limited edition prints, mini-prints,
and mini-mini prints are sold nationally. Oprah Winfrey owns one
of Jeanie's original watercolors. Jeanie's studio, "Atelier,"
is in Manassas.

has named Grace
Simpson '73 MS,
Poet Laureate of Virginia.
Susann Fletcher-Smith
'77, is
performing in
the national tour of Annie
Get Your Gun.
Janice Jones Campbell,
'78, of
Vermont, had a pencil drawing accepted by the Muscular Dystrophy
Association's art collection. She has also written a book, Going
for the Big Cheese,
in which through the eyes of a paraplegic mouse she tells of living
with myasthenia gravis.
Kathryn Laffey
Montgomery '78,
was named one of Delaware's Top Lawyers by Delaware
Today. She
specializes in family law.
Pam Bessler Phillips
'79, began
Kindermusik of Fairfax in 1995.
Today Pam has 150
families enrolled in this early childhood music and movement program.
The basic belief of this program is that every child is musical,
every parent is the child's most important teacher, and the home
is the most important place for learning to take root and grow.

Steve Hitchings
'84, recently
was promoted to Group Director of Technology Management of Ryder
Systems, Inc., a leader in logistics and transportation management
solutions worldwide. In his new position, Steve
will be responsible for directing the selection, testing, integration
and implementation of applications and technologies in support
of products that provide value to
Ryder's clients.
Stacy Renee Bates
'97, is
a media relations consultant with Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
One of her tasks has been to create a greater local media presence
for Virginia's Free Clinics.
Christopher Scott
Gilbert '95,
founded Karate For Christ in 1997
while a student at Regent University School of Law. Today he has
over 250
students in
