Lodgings in Farmville

Longwood's Office of Conferences & Scheduling has secured discounted rates at two Farmville hotels for the Thursday and Friday nights of the conference: the Hampton Inn and the Comfort Inn. Reservations must be made before 5 March, since after that date the discounted rate will be lost. Participants need only mention the Medieval Conference at Longwood to secure the conference rate.

•  The Comfort Inn is at 2108 S. Main St. (between the campus and US Hwy 460); the phone number is 434-392-8163. Rates: $89.99 (be sure to stipulate non/smoking).
•  The Hampton Inn is at 300 Sunchase Boulevard, just off Third St./US 460 Business; the phone number is 434-392-8826. Rates: $99/king; $109/suites.

Several Longwood students have offered to open up their residences to fellow undergraduates from other institutions who may like to avail themselves of such hospitality. Anyone interested in this should contact the conference organizers to pursue further details. After all, medieval travelers invented “couch-surfing” well before the term arrived.
