Lodgings in Farmville

Longwood's Conferences & Scheduling has secured a discounted rate Farmville's Comfort Inn for the Thursday and Friday nights of the conference. Until 24 February we thus have a block of non-smoking rooms being held at the rate of $78/night for conference participants and attendees. Reservations must be made before 24 February, since after that date the discounted rate will be lost. The hotel is at 2108 S. Main St. (between the campus and US Hwy 460); the phone number is 434-392-8163. Participants need only mention the Medieval Conference at Longwood to secure the conference rate.

The hotel is located only a couple of miles from campus on Main Street not far from the intersection of Hwy 15 and US 460. Travelers coming in on US 460 should take 15 North to reach the hotel.

Several Longwood students have offered to open up their residences to fellow undergraduates from other institutions who may like to avail themselves of such hospitality. Anyone interested in this should contact the conference organizers to pursue further details. After all, medieval travelers invented “couch-surfing” well before the term arrived.
