and culture and civilization, cinema, anthropology and international business. A detailed course list is available on request.

Venezuela, with magnificent rain forests, a dazzling 2,000 mile coastline and the snow-capped  peaks of the Andes, is a splendid mixture of culture and people unlike anywhere else in the world.

Discover the riches of Venezuela in the colonial era city of Merida, nestled on an Andean mountain plateau enveloped by the highest peaks of the region. Merida, founded in 1558, hosts a population of 110,000 and an average temperature of 66 degrees year round, both of which give warm welcome to the newcomer.

Although Merida is now a modern city, it displays the look of Spanish colonialism intertwined with vibrant Indian style. Experience daily life in M6rida by strolling the narrow colonial streets, hiking in the  surrounding mountains, fishing in the beautiful lagoons of the area, or dancing merengue to the captivating rhythm that fills the evening air.

At least two years of college Spanish is required for admittance to the program. A minimum grade-point average of 2.5 or better is a prerequisite.
