Employees can look up personal information within myLongwood, and access Banner information. Students can register for classes, check grades and pay bills through the portal.

  • FAQ
    • Question: How do I access registration and advising in the myLongwood portal?
      • Answer: The portal is available at https://my.longwood.edu. The registration and advising channels are found on the Faculty tab.
    • Question: What channels are available to me for registration and advising?
      • Answer: The registration and advising channels include myLongwood Services, Faculty Dashboard, Faculty Schedule, Advisor Dashboard, and Faculty Grade Assignment. There is also a Faculty Shortcuts channel that can be added.
    • Question: Are instructions on how to use the functions in the registration and advising channels available to me?
      • Answer: Yes, a video tutorial on general navigation and customization of the portal as well as a Faculty Services Video Tutorial can be accessed on the Tutorial tab within the portal or in the support section of this website.
    • Question: Who do I contact if I have questions?
      • Answer: If you have questions concerning access to or functionality of the MyLongwood portal please contact User Support Services at (434) 395-4357 or email helpdesk@longwood.edu.     • Question: How do I access my Human Resources information in the myLongwood portal?
      • Answer: The portal is available at http://my.longwood.edu. The Human Resources channel is found on the Employee Resources tab.
    • Question: What kind of information will I find in the Human Resources channel?
      • Answer: Information found in the Human Resources channel in myLongwood will include viewing of addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, viewing and updating of emergency contact and martial status. Benefits information such as health benefits, retirement plan, flexible spending account, and tax sheltered annuities is also available.
    • Question: Will I still access Payline for payroll information?
      • Answer: Yes, Payline will still serve as our system of record for leave balances and pay and deductions information. You may access Payline directly from the myLongwood portal. The link is found both under quick links or the Payline channel within the Employee Resources tab.
    • Question: Will I be able to change my benefits information in myLongwood?
      • Answer: No, if you need to make changes to your health benefits, flexible spending accounts, or tax sheltered annuities, please contact the HR Benefits Manager at 2076.

      • Answer: If you have questions concerning access to or functionality of the MyLongwood portal please contact User Support Services at (434) 395-4357 or email helpdesk@longwood.edu.     • Question: What is the myLongwood Forum?
      • Answer: MyLongwood Forum is a web based forum designed for free and open discourse between faculty and staff. The Forum has been separated into three “groups” for your convenience:
        • Forum - Discussion
        • Forum - Events
        • Forum – Classifieds
    • Question: Are announcements pertaining to official Longwood business posted in the Forum?
      • Answer: No, announcements pertaining to official University business are sent via Personal Announcements or Campus Announcements in the portal. Personal Announcements are announcements pertaining to official Longwood business and are sent to targeted groups (employee, student, etc.) A limited number of faculty and staff members have the ability to post messages to Personal Announcements. Campus Announcements are announcements pertaining to official Longwood business and are sent to all faculty, staff, and students. Only the President, the Vice Presidents, and their designees have the ability to post Campus Announcements.
    • Question: How do I access the Forum?
      • Answer: To access the Forum you should login to myLongwood at http://my.longwood.edu, click the "Groups" icon located in the upper-right corner of the screen, and select one of the three Forum group links. You are now viewing a Forum group. Select the "Message Board" link in the left column to view a list of message topics. Click a topic to read the message and view replies.
    • Question: Who has the ability to post to the Forum?
      • Answer: All faculty and staff have the ability to post to the myLongwood Forum.
    • Question: How do I post to the Forum?
      • Answer: To create a new topic, click on the "Post a Topic" link and follow the instructions. To reply to an existing topic, click on the topic and click the "Post a Message" link. Replies are organized as threaded discussions for convenience.
    • Question: Is there an easier way to access the Forum?
      • Answer: Yes! A "Forum" channel is available for quick and more frequent access to the Forum groups. This channel provides direct links to each of the Forum message boards. (Note: You must be a member of the Forum groups for the links to work properly.)
        To add the "Forum" channel to one of your tabs, follow these instructions:
        1. In the top left-hand corner of the page above the tabs, locate and click the "Content/Layout" link. You are now in design/layout view where you can add/delete/move channels and tabs.
        2. Select the tab name on which you would like to add your forum channel.
        3. Locate the column and position where you want to add the channel and click the "Add Channel" button.
        4. From the menu, select the "Resources" category and click "Go." From the menu provided, highlight the "Forum" channel and click "Add Channel." You are returned to the layout page where you see the new channel appear in the layout.
        5. Click the return link, which is located in the upper left-hand side of the screen. To view your new "Forum" channel, return to the tab where you elected to add the channel. From now on when you log on, you will see the new channel on this tab.

    • Question: What are myLongwood Groups?
      • Answer: MyLongwood Groups allow faculty, staff and student organizations at Longwood the ability to create and manage group homepages for clubs, organizations, and other affiliations and interests.
    • Question: What are some of the functions available in Groups?
      • Answer: Functionality available within a myLongwood Group includes announcements, news, calendar, chat, message board, file distribution, and more!
    • Question: How do I access Groups in myLongwood?
      • Answer: To access myLongwood Groups you must log in to the myLongwood portal and select the Groups icon on the top right.
    • Question: Who can request a myLongwood Group?
      • Answer: Longwood faculty and staff members can request a Group. Student organizations may also request a group; however, the request must originate from the organization’s advisor.
    • Question: How do I request a Group?
      • Answer: To request a Group you must complete the Group Request form. To access the form click on the Groups icon in the top right corner in myLongwood and click on Request Group.
    • Question: Where can I find more information on the functionality of myLongwood Groups?
      • Answer: More information and detailed instructions on how to use myLongwood Groups can be found in the Help section of the myLongwood portal.

      • Answer: The myLongwood calendar is a web based fully functional calendar that allows you to access, and manage your schedule from any Web-enabled device via the myLongwood portal.
    • Question: Will the myLongwood calendar sync with my Outlook calendar?
      • Answer: No, the myLongwood calendar is completely different from the Outlook calendar.
    • Question:  How do I access the calendar in myLongwood?    
      • Answer: To access the myLongwood calendar you must log in to the myLongwood portal and select the Calendar icon on the top right.    
    • Question: Can I share my myLongwood calendar?   
      • Answer: Yes, you can create your own calendars and share them with friends or colleagues. Note: The person that you are sharing with must also have access to the myLongwood portal.    
    • Question: What are some of the functions available in the calendar?    
      • Answer: Functionality in the myLongwood calendar includes creating multiple calendars, setting up events, creating tasks, calendar comparisons, sending invitations to other calendar users, and much more!      
    • Question: Where can I find more information on the functionality of the myLongwood calendar?    
      • Answer: More information and detailed instructions on how to use the features of the myLongwood calendar can be found in the Help section of the myLongwood portal.
