Stop Medicating, Start Parenting: This book, the fifth by Dr. Stein, "attacks the current dogma that many teens are viewed as
victims of mysterious and baffling psychiatric diseases such as attention deficit disorder/attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADD/ADHD) and bipolar disorder." Using "25 years of research and his experience in helping hundreds of families, Dr. Stein offers a powerful set of tools employing cognitive/behavioral, drug-free solutions for parents of difficult teens…describes the long-term implications of using psychiatric drugs ... and offers an alternative to controlling difficult teens through his popular REST (Real Economy System for Teens) program, a nonconfrontational parenting plan."
