Dr. Naomi Johnson on TV and in Newsweek

Dr. Naomi Johnson's research on product placement in teen novels was featured in an April interview on the WTVR-CBS TV-6 morning program, CBS Virginia This Morning.

Her research was also included in a story in the March 17 edition of Newsweek. The article, written by Eve Conant for Newsweek, is titled "Branding for Beginners."

Longwood's new Health & Fitness Center praised for Environmental Design in Virginia Business

The April issue of Virginia Business magazine includes a large photo and article about Longwood's new Health & Fitness Center, which was recently awarded the Gold Certification from the Leadership for Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The story, "Longwood initiative helping it reach environmental goals," was written by Heather B. Hayes and appeared on p. 21 of the April 2008 issue.

Dr. Chuck Ross in the News

Dr. Chuck Ross, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in a story in the 3.28 issue of the Newport News Daily Press. The story, "For Lee, acoustics were sound off defeat," was written by David Macaulay and focuses on Dr. Ross's research on how acoustic shadows impacted the outcome of several key battles in the Civil War. Dr. Ross presented a lecture on the topic to the Jefferson Lab Spring Science Series in Newport News last Tuesday. The story can be accessed online.

Drs. Walter Witschey and Tom Akre in the News

Walter WitscheyDr. Walter Witschey's science column appeared in the 3.13 edition of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The story, "Peepers' loud chorus a sign spring is near," can be found online.
