Longwood's Dr. Walter Witschey had two columns in the Explore Section of
the (Thursday 25 October 2007) Richmond Times-Dispatch. “Consciousness Awareness Studied,” the subject of his monthly science column, appeared on the front page of Section E and “SCI-KIDS: Molecules of water create surface tension” appeared at the bottom of page E-3.

Katie Register and Clean Virginia Waterways in the News
Katie Register, executive director of Clean Virginia Waterways, was featured in an article in the Saturday 13 October issue of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The story, "From pickle barrel to rain catcher," was written by Karin Kapsidelis and discusses the use of pickle barrels as rain catchers, which help conserve water and protect the environment.

Longwood University was included in the new School & College Guide published by the Richmond Times-Dispatch in Sunday's edition, October 14, 2007. Longwood was featured in several sections including a profile, a feature on our managed apartments (Longwood Landings, Longwood Village, and Lancer Park) with quotes from Larry Robertson, a feature on financial aid with quote from Karen Schinabeck, and a piece on guranteed admissions with a quote from Bob Chonko. The new Health and Fitness Center was also highlighted.
