Longwood University and its marketing firm, CRT/tanaka of Richmond, were the top award winners in the 59th Annual Virginia Public Relations Awards, sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in Richmond on June 7. In all, Longwood received five PRSA awards for strategic and tactical marketing, components of a new Longwood marketing campaign, “Discover the Power in You.”

A Longwood admissions brochure, targeted to high school juniors,  took the “Best of Show” Gold Anvil award and two Longwood web entries (created in-house by Longwood’s web communications team of Dave Hooper, Lewis Carlyle and Xiaona Ren) won Bronze Anvil awards.  This year’s entries were judged by the Portland, Oregon Metro Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

The new junior admissions brochure designed by CRT/tanaka and Longwood, was an admissions exam in itself. The brochure came rolled up in a tube with assembly instructions for folding the brochure into a colorful origami-style action figure.
