Subject: Todd Miller

I am sorry to inform you that Todd Miller, a Longwood senior and member of the men’s rugby club, died on Sunday, March 9 at MCV Medical Center. Todd was critically injured on March 1 during a match against Virginia Military Institute at the First Avenue Field.

Todd was a senior business administration major and a member of the Student Advisory Board in the College of Business and Economics. He was director of programs for the Longwood chapter of the American Marketing Association and in fall 2007 earned President’s List honors for achieving a 4.0 grade point average. As Longwood’s leading rugby scorer in 2007, he was selected to the Virginia Rugby Union all-star team and served as vice president of Longwood’s Rugby Club. Todd graduated from Lake Braddock High School in Springfield, Va. and enrolled at Longwood as a freshman in fall 2001. He left Longwood in fall 2002 and returned in spring 2006 at the age of 23.

The Longwood community offers its sincere condolences to Todd's family and the students, faculty, and staff who were team members and friends to Todd. Details about a memorial service will be made available at a later date.
