LONGWOOD COLLEGE
RESIDENCE HALL DAMAGE REPORT

27 April 2001

According to inspector reports of the fire in Ruffner and Grainger Buildings, it has been confirmed that fire did not enter any residence hall rooms. French and South Tabb Halls suffered very minimal damage due to smoke. Rooms in South Ruffner and Main Tabb have water and smoke damage that varies based on the distance from West Ruffner.

A fire clean-up company has been hired to extract water and smoke from the residence halls and Grainger. The effort is in progress and expected to be completed within the next several weeks. A specific schedule for students to enter residence halls to claim their belongings has not been established. Former residents of these residence halls will be contacted by student affairs with details about how to reclaim their belongings when buildings are suitable for reentry.

Residence hall space available to students for Fall 2001 will not be affected. French, South Tabb, South Ruffner and Main Tabb will be fully functional for new student arrival in August.
