Longwood University has a long-standing history of student community service and citizen leadership. Longwood University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program is grounded in that mission. Student involvement with the community and service -learning is woven throughout our curriculum. We promote patient and professional advocacy through student experiences with local, state, and national nursing events and organizations. Our nursing program prepares nurses that are citizen leaders.
Challenging academics, laboratory, and clinical work are integral components of the BSN program. The blend of classroom theory, and applied simulated and hands-on clinical experiences will introduce you to the real world of healthcare. You will learn how to advocate and coordinate care for your patients. You will learn how to assist your patients to navigate through a very complicated health care system. With a nursing degree from Longwood you will have the knowledge and skills to improve the health of your community, your nation, and the world.
Get Involved in Nursing!
As a nursing student you will be encouraged to participate in student leadership opportunities. Within nursing, students can become active in Longwood's chapter of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) or serve as an elected class student council member.
