Program Progression

Challenging academics, laboratory, and clinical work are integral components of the Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) program at Longwood University.  We are certain that you will be prepared to care for patients and clients of any age with varied health challenges.

To ensure your success a minimum grade of C- must be earned in every pre/co-requisite to nursing courses, and all courses listed under nursing major requirements. Students must maintain an overall G.P.A. of at least 2.0 or C to remain in good academic standing.  All (NURS) specific labeled courses require a C or higher. In (NURS) courses with a clinical component, students must achieve an average of at least a C on course examinations to receive a passing grade in the course.  Students must also demonstrate satisfactory achievement of the clinical objectives to pass the course. For additional information please refer to the Nursing Program Student Handbook viewable in Blackboard.
