Twin Lakes State Park
Twin Lakes State Park, centrally located in Virginia's Piedmont region, provides visitors from all over the Commonwealth with a variety of lakefront activities in a secluded setting. Swimming, camping, fishing, biking, canoeing and hiking are popular activities. There are two cabin areas, Twin Lake's Cabins and Cedar Crest Cabins, each with two bedrooms. Bear Creek Lake State Park
Nestled in the heart of Cumberland State Forest, Bear Creek Lake is the perfect getaway for the outdoor enthusiast. The park offers camping, cabins, a meeting facility, an archery range, lakeside picnicking, playgrounds, hiking and access to a 14-mile multi-use trail in the state forest. Holliday Lake State Park
Deep in the heart of Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest, Holiday Lake State Park is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. James River State Park
James River State Park is one of the state's newest parks. The park has numerous options for overnight stays, and offers access to nearly 20 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Canoes, kayaks, tubes and bicycles can be rented at James River Outdoor Adventures (livery) by the canoe landing. Pocahantas State Park
Just 20 miles from downtown Richmond, the capital of Virginia, Pocahontas State Park is one of the more popular parks in the state park system. Amenities include: amphitheater, swimming pool and aquatic recreation center, hiking trails, bridle trials, biking trails, Beaver lake, Swift Creek, restricted hunting areas, gift shop and nature programs.
