Physics and Dual-Degree Engineering @ Longwood University

Dual-Degree Program: ODU Requirements

Students transferring to Old Dominion University and successfully completing the curriculum will earn either the Master of Science or the Bachelor of Science in the chosen discipline.

What engineering disciplines are available?

Aerospace (M.S. only) Electrical Mechanical
Civil Engineering Mechanics (M.S. only) Modeling and Simulation
Computer Engineering Environmental
Design and Manufacturing Experimental Methods

What are the requirements for admission into the dual degree program at Old Dominion University?

The student should have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to be accepted into one of the Masters level programs.  Students may have a lower grade point average (in the 2.5 range) to be accepted into the Bachelors programs.

What additional courses are required before transfer?

It is highly recommended that all students take Longwood courses Math 343 (Linear Algebra) and CMSC 206 (C++ programming) before transfer.  Also, ODU currently accepts only certain courses from several of the Longwood general education goals, so the prospective student should plan carefully with their academic advisor.
