Sergeant Ricardo Atristain has been a patrol officer with LUPD since October of 2006, but his professional law enforcement career spans a number of years as he served with Petersburg, Richmond and Chesterfield County Police. His career has been multifaceted being assigned as a Field Training Officer, Forensic Detective, Crimes against Persons/ Homicide Detective, Property Crimes Detective, and Economic Crimes Detective. Just before coming to the LUPD he spent sixteen months in Iraq as a State Department Contractor training and mentoring the Iraqi police forces.
Rick's off duty activities revolve around his family and the outdoors where they love to hike, camp and skydive.
