Senior Manager Integrated Security Systems Dorrill Dining Hall 165
Deb Wooding is the Senior Manager of the Integrated Security Systems office located in the Police Department. She has over 20 years of service with the State of Virginia. She began her career at Longwood as a support technician for ITS. She was one of two people who implemented and oversaw Longwood's first Help Desk from 1994-1997. From 1997-2001 she was the assistant for the ITS Vice President and 5 managers. In 2001 she accepted the position as the ID Center Manager/Security System Administrator of the Lenel access control system, a year after Longwood's integrated security management system was created. In 2010 Debra transferred to the Police station as the Senior Manager of the Office of Integrated Security Systems, Office Manager, Budget Manager, and Assistant to the Chief. Since the security system's inception, Debbie has overseen expansion in Longwood's needs and functions with regards to faculty, staff, & student access, system programming, reader capacity, client stations, fire alarm reporting, new construction projects and induction/installation of the video surveillance camera system located on campus.
Debbie lends her time and experience to various Longwood committees which have included the Staff Advisory committee, the Conference & Scheduling Campus Team, the Summer Shine committee, the Video Security team, the LUBUG committee, the Opening Logistics team, and the Student Affairs Professional Development team. She is also a respected member of the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU), which provides a diversified source of campus card related services, information and networking opportunities for ID card security industry professionals.
Debbie is a graduate of Longwood College who majored in Education and previouisly taught first and third grade in addition to raising her three sons. Amongst her hobbies are photography, reading, camping, sewing and spending time with her family, three grandchildren, and close friends. She is an avid nature and animal lover, which is reflected in her photography. She and her husband, Chuck, reside in Cumberland County.
