F/S Premium Parking Policy

Premium parking allows a faculty or staff member the opportunity to “purchase” a parking space on an annual basis for their exclusive use.  Premium spaces are denoted by  numbered signs and the space owners have special hangtags that reflect the same space number as the sign.  The program is limited to 25 participants and a waiting list is maintained in the event that an opening occurs.

Premium spaces are reserved 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  The location of the space can be requested by the purchaser.  Every effort will be made to satisfy that request within reason.  This will be the only space for the owner.  Owners may not move to other F/S spaces on campus or in the garage.

Premium spaces may be renewed each year.  However if a current owner forfeits the space, it will be offered to the first person on the waiting list.   Spaces vacated in the middle of the school year will not be offered to another person until the beginning of the next school year.  The premium sign will be removed and the space will revert to a general use F/S space.

The parking fee for a Premium space is set at a flat fee and at a higher level than a regular F/S parking permit.  The fee will be deducted in increments from the participant’s salary over a 24 pay period.  The parking fee must be paid every year in order to keep the space.  The fee for Premium Parking is $550.00 annually.

The owner of a Premium space may loan the space to another faculty or staff member during periods of vacation or absence from the campus.  In order to do this, the person using the space must have in their possession the parking hangtag that corresponds with the Premium space sign.  These arrangements are strictly between the space owner and the person he/she loans the hangtag and space to.  Allowing students to use premium parking is prohibited at all times.

Lost or stolen hangtags for Premium spaces must be reported to the Parking Services Office or the Police Department immediately.

Persons parking in Premium spaces without the consent of the owner, or who do not have the appropriate hangtag displayed in the vehicle will be ticketed and towed from the area.

The University reserves the right to utilize these spaces for certain institutional events, i.e. Commencement.
