Student parking permits for 2008/2009 will be external application window decals.  Decals will be placed on outside of the rear window, lower corner behind the driver.

To reach the On-Line Registration, you will need click on the link on top of this page. If you have had your car at school before, you will have the option to select your car from the established menu for your account.  If you are a new parker, you will be creating your account.  Let’s get started!

The Process (In Detail):

You will be asked to key your Social Security Number and Last Name in order to logon.
Click “Request Permit”.  Verify your data and if correct, “Continue”.  You are now at the Main Menu screen.  You will need to go through each step to ensure that your information is correct.  Begin with Select your Address.  At this screen you can edit an existing address if incorrect, or add an address if your local address is not listed.  Save your entry.  Once you confirm your address you will “Proceed”.  This will return you to the Main Menu.  Click on the Vehicle Information selection.  If your car is correct, select it and “Proceed”.  (We suggest that you enter your vehicle information using your DMV registration for accuracy of license tag numbers.)  If the information is incorrect or if you get an error message, you will need to click on the edit button to make the necessary corrections.  You will then “save” your entry and then “proceed”.  The last selection you need to make is to Request a Student Parking Permit.  This will bring up your Permit History which lists all the permits you have had while at Longwood.  Once at this screen, you need to “Request Permit”.  You are now at the Decal and Lot Selection screen.  Using the drop down box, select the permit type that you wish to purchase.  You will not have the option of selecting a parking lot so be sure “Not Applicable” is selected in this area.  In the Payment Option box, select “Other”.  Click “Continue”.  Verify your information, if correct “Submit Transaction”.  You are now at the final screen, the Confirmation of Request.  Print a hardcopy of this confirmation as this must accompany your payment.

Note:  Sometimes the system ‘freezes’ and will not let you continue.  When this happens, it wants you to go back to the previous screen to review your entry.  You may need to ‘save’ to continue.  Email us at parking@longwood.edu if you need help.

The Payment

Longwood University does not accept credit cards for parking permits at this time.  You will need to mail your check or money order made payable to Longwood University to Longwood University Cashiers Office, 201 High Street, Farmville, VA  23909.
Please include with your check a copy of your permit confirmation from the on-line screens. You must also enclose a good, clear photocopy of the DMV registration card from the car you intend to use. Your payment will go directly to the Cashiers Office for processing and your order forwarded to Parking Services to be filled.  Please remember that it will take at least 48 hours for the process to occur once received.

The Decal

Decal packets will be prepared for your orders and will be ready for you to pick up from the Parking Services Office in the Graham Building.   You will be asked to show a picture identification card when you come for your packet. Your packet will include the new Parking Regulations Booklet, Parking Map, and your permit.
Remember, if you are a resident student living at Lancer Park you must select a Lancer Park permit.  If you are a resident living at Longwood Village you are to select a Longwood Village permit.
