Off Campus Release
The off campus release application process is designed for students that wish to be considered for the opportunity to be released from the longwood residency requirement, to live independent of longwood housing management and to sign a lease arrangement with a private landlord.
Current residential students must have at least 56 or more earned credits by the end of the 2011 spring semester in order to submit this request.
If you will have 89 or more earned credit hours at the end of spring 2010
You are eligible to APPLY for our Off-Campus Waitlist. Filling out this WAITLIST application will not guarantee you get to move off campus so DO NOT sign any leases or contracts.
Please fill out the application and turn it in to the Housing Office before 5pm on Feb 18, 2011.
Applications will be available on the RCL website from February 14th - February 18th at 5pm.

Attention:
Students who are contracted to live at Lancer Park, Longwood Landings, or Longwood Village DO NOT submit an "Off Campus Release From Residency Requirement" Application. Longwood Landings , Lancer Park, and Longwood Village Residents are "On-Campus" students.
Things To Know
Only current residents with at least 56 credits or more earned by the end of the 2011 spring semester may submit the "off campus release" application.
- At the forefront, students that have already submitted a 2011-2012 application, intending to live in Longwood-managed apartments (Longwood Landings, Lancer Park or Longwood Village), are NOT PERMITTED to submit this referenced "Off Campus Release" application.
- Application submission BEGIN at 9:00am on Monday, February 14, 2011. The submission process ENDS at 5:00pm on Friday, February 18, 2011.
- Submitting an application does not automatically facilitate a release to live independent of Longwood University managed housing.
- Received applications will be prioritized in earned credit hour order. Students with 89 or more credits will have the highest priority for any release. This is NOT a first come, first serve application process.
- Students with 56-88 earned credits by the end of the 2011 spring semester will be prioritized into a "WAITING LIST." RCL will determine after the application deadline (Feb. 18) how many waiting list students can continue in our release process. An email will be sent shortly after the application deadline to all applicants and will contain application standing and further instructions.
- Students approved to be released must attend a mandatory (invitation only) orientation session. Following this orientation session, written permission letters will be distributed. Students should not make off campus living arrangements or sign leases prior to receiving a written release from RCL
