3-7       Not Returning to your Current Assignment for spring 2009?  Want to change your assignment or meal plan?  Submit your mid-year housing intention form to RCL (Lancaster G-13).  Click www.longwood.edu/rcl to complete this on-line form.  Approved mid-year room change confirmations emailed on November 21.

7          Room freeze begins; no more room changes requests processed until January 23.

29         Longwood Landing Studio “squatting” application day.  Current Longwood-managed Studio Single apartment residents can sign to return to their SAME apartment unit assignment for the 2009-2010 academic year.

30         Longwood Landing Studio “lottery” application day.  Any Longwood-managed residential student, who will have at least 56 earned credits by the end of the 2009 spring semester, may participate in a special lottery drawing for the remaining (non-squatted) studio single apartments.

 

 

February

2-6      Longwood-managed apartment application period Assignments for Lancer Park, Longwood Landings and Longwood Village communities held this week.

9-13      Off campus release application period (Resident must have at least 56 earned credits to submit an application).  Written permission required prior to signing any lease.  Submitting an application DOES NOT GUARANTEE an automatic off campus release.

19       Mandatory Off Campus Release Orientation held for invited eligible applicants; Lankford Student Union at 3:30pm

 

 

March

4          Special interest housing (fraternity, sorority, Honors, Globe, etc.) floor assignments are due to respective group sponsors.

6          Main campus residence halls and LU apartments close at 6:00pm for Spring break   (“Register to stay process” held February 25-March 4.)  Residential communities re-open at noon on March 15.

17         Disability accommodation requests are due to Disability Services (Graham 105) by 5:00pm.  Health need requests for priority assignment (based on a health condition or a medical treatment plan) are due to the Office of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (Lancaster G-28) by 5:00pm.

 19        Looking for a Roommate?  Join other students that are also looking for a roommate at a “Mix & Mingle” event; Lankford Student Union, ABC Rooms; 3:30pm-5:00pm.

23-Apr3  Main campus residence hall application period.

 

 

Explanation regarding Mid-Year Housing Intentions & Preference Changes(held November 3-7)  :
During this particular week, RCL will collect mid-year room assignment change requests, mid-year meal plan change requests and intentions of any students that will not returning for spring semester.   Room and meal plan changes will be updated in the university’s computer systems prior to spring semester invoicing.  Withdrawing students must also “communicate officially” with their respective Academic Deans’ office.

 

Explanation regarding Mid-Year Assignment Changes:

When possible, mid-year assignment changes (using only currently available bed vacancies) must be completed no later than 5:00pm on Saturday, December 6.   If not, students approved for a mid-year assignment change must vacate their current fall semester assignment location prior to the start of winter break (or 24 hours after their last exam).  Students will be responsible to make local storage arrangements during the break period or to take home all personal items.  Students will not be permitted to officially move into their new spring semester assignment location until Sunday, January 11 (9:00am – 5:00pm).  Spring semester classes begin at 4:00pm on Monday, January 12.
