I was born and raised in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and I
am a Longwood Alumni (go Red & White), graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1986. I earned my Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling: Concentration in Student Personnel in Higher Education at Radford University in 1989.

I am a member of the Association of College and University Housing Officers- International (ACUHO-I), Southeastern Association for Housing Officers (SEAHO), American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). I have worked in various positions in residence life including: Resident Assistant, Longwood College (1984-1986); Resident Director, Radford University (1987-1989); Area Director, University of North Florida, Jacksonville, FL (1989-1994);
Residence Life Coordinator, NC State University, Raleigh, NC (1994-2000).

Of all of the places that I have worked, I have the fondest memories of Longwood College. When the opportunity to return to Longwood was offered, I didn't hesitate. While a student and RA at LWC, I was also involved with Alpha Phi Omega and the Longwood Ambassadors (Vice President). The look of the Longwood campus has greatly changed since my first semester when Cox Hall was all male, but the quality and character of the students, faculty and staff have remained at an exceptional level. I can honestly say that my residential experiences, academic influences and friends at Longwood College greatly helped to shape the next 19 years of my life. I encourage students and staff to make the most of your years at Longwood because those years can make the most of you!

My favorite reflective quote is, "It isn't how visible you are, it's how well you do your job even if no one notices." - Anonymous
