Campus Planning & Development (CPD)
The department of Campus Planning & Development (CPD) handles property acquisition and lease transactions on behalf of Longwood University. Longwood considers the acquisition of property that falls within the University’s Master Plan area.Our department negotiates the terms and facilitates the purchase of approved real estate holdings. We also manage all of Longwood’s lease properties. Some of these properties are leased for use by the University, and others are owned by Longwood and are available for lease to incoming faculty and staff members on a temporary basis. These temporary residential housing sites are listed on this site and can be accessed using the links on the left side of this page. In addition to maintaining Longwood’s real property holdings, space planning functions are also handled by this Department. Acting in its capacity of Space Planning Management, the Department of Campus Planning & Development (CPD) also maintains an inventory listing of all spaces on campus, including room usage and square footage information, and up-to-date floor plans of all campus buildings.
The Real Property Management Department strives to provide Real Property Management Services to Longwood, and to analyze space needs providing solutions that enhance the effective operation and support the mission of the University. See below for our department's mission Statement:
