GENERAL REGISTRATION

Begins: March 22, 2007 through

Friday, May 18, 2007 – Session I

Friday, June 15, 2007 – Session II

Friday, July 13, 2007 – Session III

8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Undergraduate and graduate students must register during the General Registration deadlines. The registration form is available online. Additional forms are available in the Office of Registration. Degree-seeking students must consult with their advisor prior to registering for classes.

All students must complete the Virginia Application for In-State Tuition Form if:

  1. the individual has not attended Longwood during the past 12 months and/or;

  2. the individual has changed their permanent residence during the past 12 months.

 

REGISTRATION OPTIONS - ON-CAMPUS COURSES ONLY

  1. MYLONGWOOD (for admitted undergraduate and graduate students)     
  • Student required to meet with academic major advisor
  • Register by accessing:  WIN.

    2.  WALK-IN (for admitted undergraduate and graduate students)

  • Register in Major Academic Advisor's Office
  • Register in Office of Registration, Barlow Hall, with advisor's signature

          WALK-IN (for non-degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students)

  • Register in Office of Registration, Barlow Hall

    3.  MAIL OR FAX (for non-degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students)

  • Register by mailing or faxing Registration Form to Office of Registration, Longwood University, 201 High Street, Farmville, VA 23909-1899

  • Non-degree seeking students must complete the Virginia Application for In-State Tuition Rates Form if a) The individual has not attended Longwood University during the past 12 months and/or b) The individual has changed their permanent residence during the past 12 months.

 

Course Load

Undergraduate and graduate students may register for no more than 7 credit hours during any one summer session. A maximum of 21 credit hours may be taken during the three summer sessions. To carry more than 7 credit hours per session, written approval is needed from your assistant dean or department chair.

 

DEGREE-SEEKING STUDENT REGISTRATION - On-Campus Courses

Undergraduate Student Registration (degree-seeking)

Undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a degree program are eligible to register as outlined above. Students must consult their advisor prior to registering for classes. Failure to obtain the advisor's approval for selected courses may result in the student being dropped from those courses and/or loss of access to online registration services.

Remember, you will not be able to register if you have hold flags. Access WIN to see if you have hold flags. 

Graduate Student Registration (degree-seeking)

Currently enrolled degree-seeking graduate students are eligible to register using WIN or in Barlow Hall . Newly-admitted, degree-seeking graduate students are eligible to register  by contacting the Office of Registration in Barlow Hall.

Courses for graduate students are listed with the respective disciplines. Registration forms are available in the Office of Registration or on the WEB.

 

Adding, Dropping and Withdrawing - On-Campus Courses

Courses may be added through 5:00 p.m. on the Last Day to Add as published for each session, subject to the availability of courses. Courses may be dropped through 5:00 p.m. on the third day of each session. Adding and dropping courses may be processed in the Office of Registration, or if admitted to Longwood, students may also have the schedule revisions made in the major advisor's office. A student may withdraw without academic penalty through the first half of the course. After that date, withdrawals from individual courses are not permitted except for medical or other non-academic emergencies which must be approved by the Dean of the student's school (see University Catalog.)

Any student who registers and later decides not to attend must notify the Office of Registration in writing by the last day to drop a course.  (If admitted in a degree-seeking program, the course may be dropped by accessing WIN.)  You will be charged for all courses in which you are enrolled as of the Last Day to Drop.  Charges will include tuition and all applicable fees, including room and board, if residential student.
