TO HELP YOU FINANCE YOUR
COLLEGE YEARS, ARMY ROTC scholarships pay tuition and required fees, and can be
worth more than $60,000! They're awarded on merit; Scholastics, Athletics and
Leadership. Scholarship winners receive a
stipend of $250-$300 (MS I &II), $350 (MS III), and $400 (MS IV) for each
academic month plus a $900 allowance for books and other educational items. If
you're a non-scholarship student, you can still receive the stipend as a
contracted cadet during your last three years. If you are awarded and accept a
scholarship, you will have a commitment to the Army after completing the
program. You can fulfill it by either serving part time in the Army National
Guard or Army Reserve, or full time on active duty.
There is NO obligation to the United States Army simply by taking courses in Army ROTC. Enrolling for this course offers you a great opportunity to learn about the United States Army. You will also gain valuable leadership experience, meet a wide variety of new people, and be able to add this course to your resume when you graduate. We in fact have approximately 50 cadets enroll in the program every semester however only 15-20 of these cadets are contracted and will become commissioned officers in the United States Army. Non-scholarship cadets incur no obligation during the first two years (the Basic Course) of Army ROTC. At the beginning of their sophomore or junior year, non-scholarship cadets agree to accept a commission in the U.S. Army upon completion of the required academic and military courses.
