    <title><![CDATA[Longwood Professor Glenn Dardick in the news media for digital forensics research]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Glenn Dardick, assistant professor of computer information management systems, was interviewed on Monday by British Channel 4 regarding his research on digital forensics. Dr. Dardick, along with Longwood students and a team of researchers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia analyzed data recovered from discarded or recycled hard drives purchased on the open market from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Australia.&nbsp;In many instances, the second-hand hard drives contained sensitive personal data and national security information.</p>

<p>Dr. Dardick is an expert on digital forensics, which he describes as the "acquisition and interpretation of electronic evidence," and works as a consultant on civil and criminal investigations and has testified on behalf of plaintiffs, defendants, public defenders and federal defenders. He is the founding editor-in-chief of <em><a href="http://www.jdfsl.org">The Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law</a></em>, an academic journal that he thinks is the only one of its kind in the world. The journal and a related annual conference are part of the Association of Digital Forensics, Security and Law, based at Longwood, which he also started.</p>
