Welcome to Longwood University's SACSCOC reaffirmation website. Reaffirmation of our accreditation is an essential activity for us as an institution.
Reaffirmation is a multiyear process that involves all of us in a thorough assessment of Longwood's programs, services and processes—it is our institutional report card as well as our opportunity to discover how we can improve. I ask each unit to review itself and its processes against the SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation with the honor and integrity that are at the core of what it means to be a member of the Longwood community. Together we can seize opportunities for improvement and showcase Longwood's commitment to scholarship, service and standards.
It is important for the entire campus to approach the reaffirmation process as a high priority. As you will learn from this site, multiple teams of faculty, staff and students are hard at work on the compliance report and QEP. As they approach you for input or documentation, remember that our success depends on collective dedication to this important endeavor.
I invite each of you to explore the reaffirmation website, stay informed and join the collaborative effort. I thank those involved in both large and small ways, and I look forward to working together as we move forward to ensure that Longwood will continue to be an outstanding university.
The dates of the on-site visit are March 18-20, 2014.
The purpose of this website is to help Longwood faculty, staff, students, and administrators understand the requirements of accreditation so that we can respond effectively for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) in 2014. The site will be updated on a regular basis with important resources and information related to the SACSCOC reaffirmation process.
