Stream processes, field instrumentation for watershed analyses, climatology,
land usage and impacts on stream hydrology/ geomorphology.
CURRENT RESEARCH
-
Development of groundwater storage and overbank flow models for Low
Gradient, Blackwater, Riverine Wetlands in Penisular Florida Regional Guidebook
for Peninsular Florida. This project is part of the 1996 National Action
Plan to implement the "Hydrogeomorphic Approach" for assessing the functions
of regional wetland subclasses throughout the U.S. A draft of this
document is under review.

Member of the Piedmont Regions Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL)
Initiative. Responsible for the installation and monitoring of stream
flow and rainfall gauging equipment in the Sayler's Creek watershed.

A pilot study (with Dr. Timothy W. Stewart, Dept. of Natural Sciences,
Longwood College) to examine the relationships between physical factors
and benthic invertebrate community characteristics in the Appomattox River,
Virginia.
