These are things you can check if you're having trouble viewing SkillSoft content:

The content may launch in a separate window.  Use your Windows task bar to look at the open windows and switch to them to see what is open.

Make sure you have other programs closed as you access the courses.  They may interfere with your connectivity.

Try shutting down and restarting your system before accessing the content again.

Please Note: The courses may not launch if you are using a PopUp Stopper application. Try disabling this feature if you are using one. If you are unsure if you have a pop-up stopper installed or the correct steps to disable this application hold down the "CTRL" key on your keyboard while selecting "Launch" from the menu beside the course.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (which you should be :)  ), please follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

2. Ensure all Microsoft JavaVM options are enabled: Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Scroll down until you see MicrosoftVM (or JavaVM). Ensure all 3 options are check and click APPLY. (If no VM is present please follow the steps at the end of this list to obtain this product.)

3. Clear your Cache: Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > check Delete All Offline Content > Click OK.

4. Clear your Cookies: Tools > Internet Options > Settings > View Files > CTRL + A > hit Delete key on the keyboard (for IE 6.0 users, simply click the "Delete Cookies" button on General tab)

5. Close ALL open instances of your browser.

6. Re-open the browser and re-attempt.

7. Ensure you GRANT or say YES to any pop-up warning messages from SkillSoft or SmartForce.

If the problem persists please contact us with the following:

1. Please click "Help", then "About Internet Explorer" and provide the full version number. (Example: 5.50.4807.2300 Service Pack 2 etc).

2. Name of the course you are trying to launch.

3. Any other details you think might be helpful in resolving this issue.

You may download the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine client from the following Site. (Though this software upgrade is required in order for SmartForce Java content to function normally within your browser, it was created by a third party vendor, so SkillSoft can assume no responsibility for any complications that might arise as a result of the attempted upgrade. If you have any concerns about this process, please consult your PC support personnel):

www1.skillsoft.com/jvm.exe

When beginning the download of this file please note the location of it on your system and open the file (jvm.exe) once the download has completed.
This will bring you to an installation screen, which will ask you if you want to install Microsoft VM. You will click on "yes" and another screen will pop up with the license agreement. Once you accept the terms, the installation will begin. When the installation is complete you will be required to restart your computer before the settings will take effect.

If you continue to have trouble, please contact User Support Services.
