I am new to Longwood University. How do I get started doing funded reserach projects?
Contact Regina Maldve at the Sponsored Programs Office at 434-395-2986 or maldvere@longwood.edu for an overview of the entire process. She will need to get an idea of your research or project interest in order to better tailor funding searches to your interests.

Is OSP available to help me prepare my proposal?
OSP will review your proposal per agency guidelines and help you prepare your budget during the development of your proposal.

Do all proposals need to be submitted through OSP instead of direclty to the sponsor?
Yes. LU sponsored projects must be reviewed and signed by Univerisity Administration prior to submission.

During a February 22, 2013 presentation at the GRC Conference on Funding Competitiveness, National Science Foundation Division of Undergraduate Education program director Kathleen Bergin discussed priorities and strategies that will endure any federal budget and programming decisions that may be made in the coming months.
