Dr. McRae Amoss, professor of French,
published an article in the Winter 2008 edition of Dalhousie French
Studies. "Building Readership
in Sand's Le Compagnon du Tour de France" explores how the novelist's
creation in the text of a characterized narrator and fictional readers
makes more palatable for real readers her calls for social reform in
nineteenth-century France. Research
for the article was made possible by a 2004-05 sabbatical grant.
