OVERLAND JOURNEY ACROSS TIBET April 3-11, 1998    
 This photo of Everest was taken from the north tibetan side of the Himalayas.  This view was seen on our second day of our long and adventurous trip across Tibet to Lhasa.
  This is the site of the Dalai Lama's Winter Palace located in Lhasa.  The Dalai Lama fled from Lhasa in 1959 during the cultural revolution.  He also had a summer palace located in another section of Lhasa.
  A tibetan man at market.  Tibetan's tend to be ornamental in their dress.  Notice the jewelery in his ear and the red cloth woven through his hair depicting a particular tibetan ethnic group.
